COOLING FAN SPACER

IMG-1024.JPG

This piece was designed to replace duct tape that was holding a rectangular tube shaped cooling fan in position. This piece was 3D printed and designed in Solidworks. The extrusion from the triangle in the image on the left slides into an aluminum extrusion frame that looks like the image below. The rectangular hole on the base of the shape is just large enough for an M3 size nut to be press-fit inside. A hole on the hypotenuse side of the object was configured so the M3 size bolt could screw into the nut. To secure the fan to the spacer I designed, I drilled holes in the rectangular shaped tube and and threaded the bolt though both the fan and spacer, creating a more stable solution to holding the fan in place.
